It’s Ocean Swimming Time!

Hi Everyone, About this time of the year we would all be starting to focus on which open water events we'd be entering and the training would begin. This year the calendar is sparsely populated with one or two major events and the rest are parked - the impact of COVID. [...]

Hi Everyone, The Festive Season is coming up fast; it's only six weeks until Christmas, four weeks until Hanukkah, four weeks until Dhanu Sankranti and six weeks until Geeta Jayanti. I imagine for many these festivals will be treated slightly differently this year, with the current travel restrictions in place. We're [...]

Squad Equipment

We require all swimmers to bring their own squad equipment to Squad and SwimFit sessions. This includes goggles, swimmers, swim cap, towel, flippers, pull-buoy and a kick board if you have one. Please note that while we once occasionally lent equipment, we can no longer do so due to COVID-19 concerns. [...]

Swimming in the time of COVID-19

During this COVID-19 lockdown many swimmers have struggled, very much like fish out of water. The pools were all closed, even those at the ocean. There was a hush on social media when the call went out, “Does anyone know which beaches are open for swimming?” The silence was deafening. Many [...]

Sydney Swimmers News December Issue 1

As we're now into December, I thought it was timely to repost this great photo from last summer of Coach Bart and the Victoria Park squad on a Fun Friday session. It definitely feels like summer has arrived early, with all the smoky skies and warm days. A dreadful time for many in NSW with all the bushfires. [...]

The Too Cans proved you Can Too!

They did it! The Too Cans (Lizzie, Grant, Kim, Glenda and John) swam the English Channel in 14hrs 34 minutes. The conditions were tough and challenging. The team started their swim at 2.00am and finished later in the day on the 19th September. A spectacular effort, followed by many at home into the early hours of the following morning. They also raised $30,000 [...]
