Hi Everyone,
Gosh, how the team and I miss you. It’s been sixteen long weeks since we were last at the pools teaching swimming! Thankfully this week we started back at Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre with Private Lessons on Wednesdays and Thursdays. These will expand into other days and the weekend in the next few weeks.
It’s a slow start, but it’s a start. It feels great to be back helping people on their swimming journey. Of course much has changed since we were last on pool deck. We’ve been working through our new procedures since the coronavirus hit. I’m delighted to report we have our new hygiene practices and processes down pat and along with other changes in this time of COVID-19. Our focus is on keeping you and the team as well as others at the pool, safe and healthy. You’ll see an outline of some of the changes we’ve made further down in the newsletter.
So far we’re just back at Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre. We have been advised by the management of City of Sydney Council pools, (Prince Alfred Park, Victoria Park, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre and Cook & Philip Aquatic Centre) they will be allowing external providers to return at the end of July, or early August. So hopefully most of you won’t have to wait too much longer. I will keep you posted as I learn more.
We are still taking private lessons at Balmoral Beach for those who are super keen. It is a fantastic spot and the water clarity at this time of the year is something else. Yes, you will need a wetsuit, but it is definitely worth it. It’s such a great place to have a lesson, particularly if your goal is to swim in the ocean.
If you’d like to get your swimming on track ahead of the City of Sydney Council pool start dates, you can always join us at Lidcombe at the Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre (we’re in the balmy, warm 25m indoor pool) or at Balmoral Beach. Just contact Aieshee on 0409 826 588 or me on 0431 571 161 to find out more and book in.
Keep safe and well. I look forward to seeing you soon, poolside.
As always, yours in swimming,
Kari Baynes
Director
