Hi Everyone,
A huge congratulations to the winners of the October Challenge. It’s amazing to see the results. The winner swam 53km in the month, which is like driving from Sydney to Brooklyn! You’ll find out who the champions are further down in the newsletter.
On Friday 11th December, Masters Swimming NSW will be running the Masters Swimming NSW Women Only Twilight Swim Carnival at the Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre. It would be terrific to see a contingency from Sydney Swimmers at the event. We’re putting out a call to all those women who want to test their swimming ability, get their race pace time, and have a bit of fun. If this sounds like you, then this your event. The details are in this newsletter.
Can you believe it, there’s only seven weeks until Christmas! What a year this has been. Thankfully we are on the home stretch with 2021 just around the corner. I don’t know about you, but for me 2020 has been a very strange and challenging time. There have, however, been some silver linings for which I’m truly grateful. One of the major bright spots has been my return to regular ocean swimming, which I have sorely missed over the past few years. I find it so restorative and as strange as it might sound, grounding. I hope you’ve managed to find one or two silver linings in all the turbulence. I join many in saying, bring on 2021.
I look forward to seeing you at the pool, or the beach!
As always in swimming,
Kari Baynes
