Hi Everyone,

I’m delighted to see so many of you back at classes. We’ve even had people contact us who attended classes years ago, some back in 2016! Swimmers who want to get their swimming back on track and ready for summer.

The increase in new swimmers and those returning to classes, coupled with the restricted pool hours has meant many of our classes are filling up quickly. We are doing our best to put on additional classes to cater for the high demand and as you’ll see in the newsletter below, additional nights at two locations. We thank you for your patience as we try to accommodate everyone.

As the warmer weather continues and the pools get busier you may start to see queues form when you arrive at peak times. With the current NSW Health Public Order of 4sqm between people (swimmers), the pools are restricted to between 5-6 lap swimmers per 50m depending on the location. This week I have seen three separate occasions where a pool has turned away swimmers or asked people to wait as they have reached capacity. If this occurs and you are due to attend a class, please go to reception and advise them about your attendance at Different Strokes Swimming class. They will then let you in.

We have two new people joining our team from this week. Jelena is new to Different Strokes Swimming and comes on board as an instructor. She will be teaching at Prince Alfred Park Pool, Victoria Park Pool and Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre. Veronica returns to our office team, taking on the newly created position of Customer Service and Sales. Please make Jelena very welcome and say hi to Veronica when you next speak to her on the phone!

Happy Spring!

As always, yours in swimming,

Kari Baynes
Director
